This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on the Muse marketing site (smartgroove.app) and account portal (app.smartgroove.app). It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They let a website remember information about your visit between pages and visits — for example, that you've signed in. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly necessary
The account portal uses session cookies, and the sign-in library uses local storage, to authenticate you after sign-in and to keep your session active across pages. These are required for sign-in to work; you cannot opt out and still use the portal.
2.2 Functional
The marketing site sets no functional cookies and keeps no preferences in local storage. Your sign-in session itself is the strictly-necessary storage described in §2.1.
The site also uses session storage, for the current tab only, to carry campaign tags from a link you followed until you sign up or close the tab (Privacy Policy §1.7). No cookie is set.
2.3 Analytics
smartgroove does not currently use third-party analytics. If we add privacy-preserving analytics in the future (for example a cookieless service, or one that reports only anonymous aggregated data), we will update this Cookie Policy at least thirty (30) days before deployment.
2.4 Advertising
smartgroove does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any cross-site tracking. We do not sell user data to advertisers.
3. Third-Party Cookies
- Our payment provider sets cookies during the hosted-checkout flow to maintain your checkout session and to support fraud prevention. These cookies are governed by that provider's own privacy and cookie policies, which apply while you are on its checkout domain — the provider and the domain are both shown to you at checkout.
- Our hosting provider sets session cookies in the account portal after sign-in (see §2.1 above).
We do not embed Facebook, Google, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, or any other social-media tracking pixels on our sites.
4. Managing Cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies from settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to the account portal. All major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) expose cookie controls under their privacy or security settings.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Where a change adds analytics, a new cookie, or a new kind of storage, we give the notice §2.3 promises — at least thirty (30) days before deployment. Clarifications and contact details take effect when published. The current version is the one published at smartgroove.app/legal/cookies, and the "Effective" date at the top of this document indicates when it last changed.
